Photography is a hat trick, and for me it’s one that never gets old. Combining technical skill, creativity and timing to capture a moment is priceless. All the parents who hire me own cameras of their own, and they take lots of pictures. Every engaged couple has a friend with a nice camera. And yet my job isn’t in jeopardy. Because I don’t just take pictures, I create art that captures the essence of my subjects and preserves the emotion, the spirit and the story of their lives as it is right now.

Here’s a breakdown on my style and philosophy:

A bit about me and my life:

I’m tall (6′3″) and fairly thin/fit. Tall photographers have an advantage, they really do. :-P I have a lovely and supportive girlfriend, Erin. Without her encouragement and faith in me I might still be designing public utilities and transportation for a living (bleh). Between us we have 3 dogs and 2 cats (nobody really owns the cats, but I buy them food so I guess they’re mine). Erin also has 3 kids who may occasionally appear on my blog, but not very often as they have the duck and run maneuver down pat. I enjoy hiking, camping, mountain biking, kayaking and pretty much anything that gets me out into the world. I’ve done a bit of international travel and I enjoy getting to know people of different cultures. The things that keep me in the northwest are family, friends, beautiful outdoor spaces and the best coffee and micro brews in the world.
