Bad Marketing

I've been driving by this sign everyday for a couple weeks and I finally had to stop and take a picture.

Even if I wanted to buy a snake of unknown quality from a guy with a cardboard sign, how would I find him?

One Light Results

Yesterday's class on portrait lighting was amazing. I have a lot of 'Lighting Theory' in my head, but watching a true master in action and then following his lead each step of the way was more than just educational, it was inspiring. Thanks Zack!

Here are some of the images I took in class. The first few are of our handsome model Luke who is also a graphic designer and aspiring photographer, the last couple are other photographers in the class as we went off on our own to try out Zack's special lighting setup. The first shots were in bright sun/hard shade and the last shots were in almost total darkness, so without 'the light' there would be no pictures... (I guess that's always true!) :-) It's all about control, Albert Einstein referred to photographers as 'Light Monkeys' and it's certainly fitting. (thanks for the quote Zack, I like it...)

Beauty and the Beast

I'm in Wenatchee today at my parents house. Last night we went out to the theater. Some of my mom's friends made the costumes so she asked if I'd take some pictures. We had great seats, first row in the balcony, so it was easy. Shawna Hawkins played Belle (Beauty) and her voice is amazing! The whole performance was awesome! I ended up snapping off close to 400 pictures. It was a fun night! If anyone is interested in seeing the rest of them send me an email and let me know, I'll put a gallery together and post the link here.

Kennewick Bridge

I've been in Kennewick the last couple days and last night I went for a walk along the Columbia River next to the very picturesque Kennewick Bridge. I lived in Walla Walla when they built that bridge and remember thinking it was very cool.

Standing in the middle of the highway with my tripod wasn't as risky as it looks (although likely illegal), it's a wide median and the traffic was pretty sparse.
